Meet this year's Resident Bloggers...

Cherokee Luker || #MODLcherokee

Model, Wellness Enthusiast, Body Equality Activist, Inspirer, Social Entrepreneur, Creative

After graduating high school, Cherokee decided to defer a year from school to travel. Her adventures began in Hong Kong, where she spent two months focusing on a photography internship and traveling around Asia. Shortly after, she headed to Panama for a volunteer opportunity at an orphanage. She continued living in Panama for a total of two years working on a sustainable wellness retreat program, and traveling around Central America. When she hit her two year mark from being un-enrolled in school, she decided begin her first semester at The University of New Hampshire. After one year at UNH, Cherokee decided to transfer to The University of Hawaii, which is where her modeling journey all began. Cherokee now looks at modeling as a form of art - as a chance to evoke emotions within herself that she maybe wouldn’t get to do otherwise. She also loves the aspect of collaborating with other creatives. Cherokee hopes to continue modeling for as long as she can, and aspires to be a positive role model for girls of all shapes, sizes, and ethnicities.

Meg Akim || #MODLmeg

Model, Mentor, Seeks to Inspire, Advocate for Healthy Beauty

As Chief Creative Director of MODL Behavior, I created this space because this is the resource I wished I had when I started modeling at age 13.  This blog is my "Dear 13-year-old Me" Letter.  My first time in front of a camera was an entirely exhilarating experience but just as stressful--I had no idea what to expect or what to do!  Now that I am more seasoned and experienced (and 1,000 modeling mistakes later) I have decided to channel and share my floppers to show-stoppers. I hope both my mistakes and successes will be helpful on your personal modeling journey.
